2017 Duck Hunting Highlights

THIS IS A HUNTING VIDEO – SCENES MAY DISTURB – DISCRETION IS ADVISED!
The yearly ritual – Highlights from the 2017 duck hunting season on the family farm in the Waikato region. Duck numbers were up this year in general with plenty of ducks around during the lead up however two storms had a negative impact on the local population. The lads and I hatched a plan to shoot the river this year as it hasn’t been shot for a number of years and the ducks seemed to be wanting in there. With four adults shooting we managed to bag 32 for the opening day which was almost a limit each. Unfortunately I kept forgetting to turn the camera on so missed a lot of good shooting. I am still waiting for a decent value 4k head camera perhaps with voice activation : )

Ammo of choice this year was mostly Falcon #3 shot. This worked well with no complaints. We also had some B&P, Elly Lightning Steel, Kemen and some Gamebore too. All were 3″ rounds, all steel. Some 32 and some 36g. We also had good success on the pond with Falcon #4 shot.

Hope you enjoy the video!
